Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Songcove (“we,” “us,” “our”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use songcove.ai (the “Service”). We keep it short and try to collect only what we need to make your song.

1. Information you give us

• Your song details:the story you write, the recipient’s first name(s), your relationship to them, the occasion, genre, and language. We use these to generate the lyrics, song, and artwork.
• Voice recordings (only if you use “Your Voice”): the recording you make, which we pass to our music and voice AI provider so it can build a voice model and sing your song in your voice. We keep no copy of the recording and no record of the voice model; the recording stays in your own browser until you sign out. Setting up a voice requires an account, so that the voice singing always belongs to someone who agreed to it.
• Account & contact info: such as your email address, used to deliver your order and communicate with you.
• Payment info: processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card number.

2. Photos stay on your device

When you add photos to a Video Gift, those photos are processed entirely in your web browser to render the video on your device. Your photos are never uploaded to our servers and we never see or store them. If you later choose to share a photo-based video on a recipient page, we will ask for your explicit consent first.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we collect basic technical data (such as device and browser type and general usage) and use essential cookies to keep the Service working. We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

4. How we use your information

• to generate your lyrics, song, vocals, cover art, video, and wall art;
• to process payments and deliver your order and its shareable page;
• to provide customer support and respond to you;
• to keep the Service secure and prevent fraud and abuse; and
• to improve the Service.

5. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. To create your song we share the minimum needed with trusted providers who act on our behalf:

• Music & voice AI provider: receives your lyrics and, if you use Your Voice, your voice recording, to generate the song, vocals, and any file.
• Text & image AI providers: receive your story details to write the lyrics and generate cover art.
• Payment processor: handles your payment securely.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and users’ safety.

6. Your shareable song page

Each song can be delivered on a private page with an unguessable link. These pages are not listed publicly and are set to discourage search-engine indexing, so only someone with the link can open it.

7. Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the Service and your order, and to meet legal, accounting, or fraud-prevention needs. You can ask us to delete your data (see below); note that our AI providers may retain data per their own policies.

A cloned voice is short-lived by design. Our provider retires the voice model within about a day of it being built, after which it can no longer sing anything and setting up a voice means recording again. We keep no record of the model, and your recording is held only in your own browser — signing out deletes it from this device. Songs already made with your voice keep working. 8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; and to withdraw any consent you have given. To make a request, email us at support@songcove.aiand we’ll respond within a reasonable time.

You don’t have to ask us to delete your account. On your account page you can close it yourself: that cancels any membership, and deletes your songs and their share pages, your saved draft and your order history. Songs you have already given to someone can be kept working if you choose. The two exceptions above still apply — the voice model at our provider, and payment records we are required to keep.

If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you may lodge a complaint with the relevant authority — in Hong Kong, the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD); or, if you are in the EEA or UK, your local data protection supervisory authority.

9. Children

The Service is intended for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Applicable law

We are committed to protecting your personal information, and the rights set out in this Policy reflect your rights under applicable laws. For the purpose of this Policy, “applicable laws” means: (a) the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (Cap. 486) of the laws of Hong Kong and any subsidiary or associated regulations; and (b) to the extent applicable to you, the General Data Protection Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2016/679) (“GDPR”) and the UK GDPR, together with any legislation ratifying, adopting, or supplementing them and any associated or supplementary data protection laws or regulations.

We recognize that, as an international business, some of our customers are resident in jurisdictions other than Hong Kong. In certain circumstances, the local laws of those jurisdictions may, by way of their application, afford a customer rights in respect of the personal data they provide to us. We anticipate that the rights set out in this Policy also provide you with such protection in relation to your personal information. We may update this policy from time to time; the “Last updated” date shows when. Significant changes will be reflected here.
